Very disappointed. I bought 2 items online on 2 separate occasions, 1 Beswick bull and a set of 3 beswick ducks. The bulls horn was broken and 2 of the ducks wings had been broken and glued back on. I spoke to a man on the phone who told me I should've attended the open day to check them before bidding. Spent over a 100 which was a complete waste of money.

Very disappointing experience at Hartley's where I left several online bids on various items the night before the auction. The following day I was told that my bid had not been 'printed out' and given to the auctioneer. As such, two of the items in which I bid on where sold to another buyer for less than my offers. I can't imagine that the Seller would have been happy that their asset was sold for less than what I was willing to pay.

Due to a house move we arranged for a number of items to be sold through Hartleys. We were massively disappointed with the outcome. Almost all were sold way under the valuation provided by Hartleys. Some of the antique furniture cost us several hundred pounds each and yielded way, way under estimate. One newer piece of furniture sold for 30 having been bought for 2000. Auction selling is of course not a fine science but if we knew prior what we know now we would never have used them.
We watched live online and the speed at which each item was sold was mind blowing. At one stage the auctioneer brought the gavel down whilst online bids were still being placed. Use Hartleys if you're a buyer but if you are a seller avoid them.

We would just like to say a big Thank You to Hartley Auctioneers & Valuers. We recognised the extra effort that was put into selling our items. All their hard work is very much appreciated. We didn't have many items but for the small amount, and less valued items, the time they took and pride they put into them really showed. Both Charlie and Jerry pushed our items while selling, trying to get as much money as possible, and the valuers and porters checked and appraised our items and recommended the reserve amounts. Communications were excellent throughout - before, during and after the sale with all staff being very polite and helpful.
Great care was taken over our items plus the promotion of our items both in person and online was outstanding. We are very new to the auction scene and Hartley Auctioneers & Valuers have given us some great advice and assistance all the way through. Definitely recommended.

Friendly, helpful and efficient support with the clearance of my late mother's home. All organised at very short notice (thanks to Heather for her 'rapid response' service!) The van drivers were very pleasant and hard working. Would definitely recommend Hartley's and happily use their services again.
